Join us for SAVE DARFUR NOW: Voices to Stop Genocide

The Pittsburgh Darfur Emergency Coalition (PDEC) will travel to New York City to take part in “Save Darfur NOW: Voices to Stop Genocide,” a demonstration of the global commitment to protect the people of Darfur. We will be calling on world leaders to deploy a United Nations force into Darfur to end the genocide. “SAVE DARFUR NOW: Voices to Stop Genocide” is timed to coincide with the opening of the 61st General Assembly of the United Nations. PDEC is planning a bus trip so Pittsburghers can take part in this once in a lifetime event.

John Bolton: Still the wrong man for the job.
One year ago, while congress was on vacation President Bush appointed John Bolton to be our ambassador to the United Nations. Since then, John Bolton’s tenure as our man at the UN has been one of missed opportunities, dysfunctional diplomacy, and increasing isolation. Now, President Bush has re-nominated John Bolton to continue to represent us at the United Nations, but it is more obvious than ever that John Bolton is the wrong man for the job.

World comes together to fight AIDS
This August, Toronto hosted the largest ever International AIDS Conference, touting a new slogan, “Time to Deliver.” With prominent AIDS activists like Bill Gates and Former President Clinton, conference planners hope to shift the focus of the discussion from treatment to prevention.
