“The Answer is Blowin’ in the Wind: Shifts in the Production and Distribution of War Photography”
On January 22, 2009, Jen Saffron, Instructor in Film Studies and English at the University of Pittsburgh, presented the first Spring 2009 Global Issues Lecture, “The Answer is Blowin’ in the Wind: Shifts in the Production and Distribution of War Photography.” Beginning with the Crimean War in 1853 Saffron addressed how photography has transformed since the 1850s and how the relationship between conflict photography, art, and war has been transformed over 150 years.
